Whitehall Trust Limited, which was established in 1919, as a semi-independent financial and issuing house for Whitehall Petroleum Corporation underwrote two corporate debentures for the Tokyo Electric Company: 1) in June 1923 for 3.0 million pounds and in June 1928 with Lazard Brothers for 4.5 million pounds. There may have been other transactions for Japanese issuers. Where are the archives for these documents. Did IBJ Whitehall Bank and Trust Company assume them? Are they still with Pearson Company PLC, the predecessor company?
